The SmarTrack 5+ has been tested to the Thatcham S5 standard and operates using GPS/GLONASS, GPRS and GSM technology.

Having an internal battery back-up, the device has the ability to remain operational even when the vehicle’s power supply is removed.

The device monitors the battery voltage level, ignition status and detects if the correct person is driving the vehicle through the driver recognition system. In the event of a theft, the vehicle can be remotely immobilised via police request.

This device includes a full online account which allows you to view both the current and historical locations and journeys of the vehicle. The online account also includes features such as geofences and access to data reports. The online account is paired with a mobile app, so you can access the vehicle’s location at any time.

Global Telemetrics App

The Global Telemetrics app is available for Android/Apple devices. This will show you up-to-date location information.

Optional Alarm Input

An aftermarket alarm can be connected to the tracking device, if the alarm sounds Global Telemetrics Secure Control Centre will make contact to ensure the vehicle is safe. Please confirm with your installing company before installation.

Driver Recognition

A requirement of the S5 Thatcham criteria is that the device must be accompanied by a system which is used to verify the driver of the vehicle is an authorised user. With the SmarTrack S5 and S5+ devices, driver recognition can be in the form of either the D-iD mobile app or a physical Driver Detection card. D-iD is a mobile app-controlled system suitable for Apple and Android. The tracking device will detect whether the authorised driver’s mobile phone is inside the vehicle when travelling. If the device does not detect the mobile phone in the vehicle, Global Telemetrics will endeavour to contact the registered keeper to ensure the vehicle’s safety. There is also an option within D-iD to receive push notifications each time the vehicle is started and report any unauthorised movement through the mobile app. Driver Detection is a physical card-based system that requires the driver to carry a card with them when driving the vehicle. If the card is not present in the vehicle when moving, Global Telemetrics will endeavour to contact the registered keeper to ensure the vehicle’s safety.

Remote Immobilisation

The S5+ device includes an immobilisation element to the tracking device. In the event of a theft, police may give authority for the Global Telemetrics Secure Control Centre to initiate the remote immobilisation feature and prevent the vehicle from being driven.
